Mangroves are not afraid to wander, endure loneliness, take root in a distant place, and adapt to the harsh environment, which is highly consistent with the spirit of the Shenzhen people who dare to fight, dare to pioneer and work hard. Mangroves are the source of memories of Shenzhen Bay super headquarters, and also the spiritual home of the Shenzhen people.
Inspired by the ecological characteristics of mangroves, our project of ‘Super Biotopes’ creates a multi-functional integration of facilities with a mixed use of leisure, work and culture, emphasizing natural ecology, convenience, efficiency and a rich experience.
-Ecological basis. Biotopes of nature: In this project we go from the attention of vertical building space density, return to the attention of horizontal public space density, connecting the relationship between water-green ecosystems and the shaping of the earth’s artistic landscape, to build a symbiotic friendly relationship between the city and nature.
-Nutrient transport channel. Biotopes of efficiency: The core of the new integrated transport hub is composed of several rail transit lines, which will effectively help the economic integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Dawan District in the future, cooperate with the non-separable public space network, and form a slow-moving city. The main priority in this kind of city is to connect with the environment 'and encourage walking as the predominant means of getting around.
-Interdependent habitat. Biotopes of experience: Under the premise of unchangeable high density, the continuous Green Valley Park Alliance and eight public building communities upgrade the single coastline into an active public open living network, promoting the emotional integration of human and nature.

New Shoreline - the future ecological bridge linking historical shorelines
Shenzhen's 40-year rapid urban development moved the Shenzhen Bay coastline southward by 1.5 km. The Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, which was born on this land, will become an ecological bridge linking the past and future shorelines, exploring new relationships between mangroves and cities, and creating a new coastline in Shenzhen's district that grows in nature.
New Catalyst - Integrating transport to promote the integration of Shenzhen and HK
In the future, we hope to use the introduction of the intercity railway and a departure port to reserve the possibility of connecting Hong Kong via sea path in the future, linking Shenzhen and Hong Kong. The intercity railway will help Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base become a new catalyst for the Integrated Development of Greater Bay Area; it will open a new window of “Shenzhen-Hong Kong integration and innovation at headquarters”.
The new focus - the city's integration of coastal vital resources
With the underpass of the transit corridors such as Binhai Avenue, the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base will be integrated with Binhai Park. The unique land and sea space will unite the coastal vitality resources and become the new focus of Shenzhen citizens' public life.

Water link: The safety foundation is built upon the branch water system of linking the wetland to the sea
Soften via green: the root-growth like green space network softens the boundary between city and nature
Habitat for Birds: Restoring the coastal ecological chain and creating habitat for migratory birds
The variation of micro-topography enriches the space of the site and increases the capacity of the sponge city

The core of the new integrated transport hub is composed of several rail transit lines, which will effectively help the economic integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Dawan District in the future, cooperate with the non-separable public space network, and form a slow-moving city with priority of environment and walking.
Netting: spread root traffic, forming the base of super total and global fast links
Hub as Core: vertical connected station space, a super hub that breathes with sunlights
Spatial identity: a conceptual "mangrove community" of public buildings that are organically integrated with coastlines and natural surfaces
Within the “T” structure, eight mangrove family buildings were designed via simulated mangrove species, including landmark towers - mangrove buildings, ecological conference centers, cultural experience centers, art museum, coastal swimming pools, aquarium and integrated transportation hub.

Combining the shape and functional characteristics of the pillar roots of the mangroves, the core tube of the high-rise building directly falls on the ecological plots, minimizing the footprint and maximizing the reduction of the surface hard paving to restore the natural surface.
The building is integrated into the landscape to create a life experience that is immersed in the natural surface
The coastal typography is based on the gentle slope terrain, surrounded by the Binhai Vibrant Square, Cultural Experience Center, Art Museum, the gentle slope Gymnasium, the Marina Swimming Pool and the Mangrove Bay Aquarium.
Embrace nature when you are out of the station, breathe through the integrated transportation hub
Based on the current location of the subway station hall and the Dongguan-Shenzhen inter-city railway station, to create an efficient interchange hub with vertical layout of commercial, metro stations, intercity lines, parking and other functions, interchange and public spaces at ground level, connected with surrounding underground commercial space and underground traffic loops to form a visible and breathable hub linking the world.
Scenario experience: T-shape Urban Green Valley linking the city and sea
In the multi-level public space system, combined with various parks alliance, create a variety of landscape spaces, including green valleys, rainwater gardens, gentle slopes and grasslands, to provide users with a variety of walking space experience, and return human activities to the ground.
