1st Prize Shenzhen CBD Xiangmihu with Guallart Archtects

Honorata Grzesikowska as on of the project leaders with Vicente Guallart, Guallart Architects and together with an international team of experts, has won the first prize in the competition organized by the URBAN PLANNING Land & Resources commission of the municipality of Shenzhen, together with the Shenzhen Investment Holding, for the design of a new urban center in Shenzhen, the technological capital of China, in the Xianmihu district. The project is an example of what the cities of the future will be like based on the principle of the ecological, dense and compact city where new technologies make the public space more human and natural, merging natural corridors and high-density innovative economic activity.

We have competed with fifteen teams of international architects, including Bernard Tácheme and Daniel Libeskind. Finally, the jury awarded three First Prizes to the project by Guallart Architects, together with that of James Corner, architect of the High Line in New York, and the Shenzhen Institute of Architecture

The Shenzhen Planning Institute is already developing the final phase for the urbanization, after which the construction of the infrastructures will begin to be developed. Guallart Architects already collaborates with the Shenzhen Planning Institute on other projects.
